Basements are the most common project we run end to end. Handing boarding, taping and painting to three separate trades is where schedules slip and finger-pointing starts.

We take it from bare framing to a painted, finished space, coordinating around your electrical and HVAC rough-ins.

What's included

  • Boarding including moisture- and fire-rated board where required
  • Sound-dampening assemblies for media rooms and offices
  • Full taping to level 4, or level 5 in pot-lit open areas
  • Bulkheads, cold rooms, stairwells and mechanical closets
  • Priming and two finish coats throughout
  • Trim and door painting

The details

Pot lights change the finish level

Recessed lighting close to a wall washes it with raking light. In those areas we recommend level 5 on the affected walls even if the rest of the basement is level 4.

Timeline

A typical 800–1,200 sq ft basement runs two to three weeks from boarding to final coat, including drying time.

Common questions

Can you work alongside our other trades?

Yes. We regularly sequence with electricians, plumbers and flooring installers, and we schedule our dust-producing days accordingly.
