Cabinet doors take more abuse than any painted surface in the house, so the prep has to be obsessive: degreasing, deglossing, sanding and a genuine bonding primer.

Doors and drawer fronts come off, get numbered, and are sprayed flat in a controlled area. Boxes are masked and sprayed in place.

What's included

  • Door and hardware removal, labelling and reinstall
  • Degreasing and deglossing of every surface
  • Grain filling on oak where a smooth look is wanted
  • Bonding primer plus two spray coats of cabinet enamel
  • Cure time guidance and bumper pads on reinstall

The details

What can be refinished

Solid wood, MDF and factory-finished thermofoil in good condition all take paint. Peeling laminate and swollen particleboard should be replaced instead.

Curing

Cabinet enamel is handleable in a day but takes two to three weeks to reach full hardness. We reinstall carefully and tell you how to treat them in the meantime.

Common questions

How long is my kitchen out of service?
