On the job

Real work from Durham Region homes and job sites.

Taper applying joint compound to ceiling seams in a basementVacuum-assisted sanding of fresh drywall compoundLevel 5 smooth finished wall and ceiling in raking light

Once a leak is fixed, the affected drywall usually still has to come out. Gypsum that has been saturated loses strength and can hold mould behind the paper even when the surface looks dry.

We cut back to sound material, replace, retape, seal the stain properly and refinish the whole plane so there is no visible patch.

What's included

  • Moisture assessment before repair begins
  • Removal of saturated board and insulation
  • Shellac or oil stain-blocking of surrounding areas
  • New board, taping and skim coat
  • Texture matching where applicable
  • Full-plane repaint to avoid flashing
  • Documentation and photos for insurance claims

The details

We do not paint over active leaks

If the source is not fixed, the repair fails. We will tell you when the job needs a roofer or plumber first, even though it delays our work.

Insurance work

We provide itemised scopes and before/after photos suitable for a claim, and we can work directly with your adjuster.

Common questions

How long after a leak can you start?

The area needs to read dry on a moisture meter, which usually takes a few days with air movement after the source is repaired.
