Prep is the least glamorous and most important line item on any quote. It is also the first thing a cheap price cuts out.

We sand with vacuum-assisted planetary and pole sanders, which pull the vast majority of gypsum dust straight into a HEPA extractor instead of into your furnace return.

What's included

  • HEPA vacuum-assisted drywall sanding
  • Poly containment and vent sealing
  • Floor, furniture and fixture protection
  • Filling nail holes, dents and gaps
  • Caulking trim, corners and gaps to the wall
  • Scuff sanding between coats for adhesion
  • Final tack-off before priming

The details

Dust-free is not dust-proof

Nobody can honestly promise zero dust from drywall sanding. Vacuum sanding plus containment gets you to the point where you are wiping down one room, not the whole house.

Sanding between coats

A quick 220-grit scuff between finish coats removes nibs and raised grain. It is the difference between a smooth trim finish and a gritty one.

Common questions

Do you seal the HVAC?

Yes. Returns and supplies in the work area get sealed before sanding starts, which is the single biggest factor in dust spreading through a house.
